It was a real honour to captain Great Britain\'s men\'s hockey team to a fifth-place finish at the Beijing Olympics. But that is history now and all our attention turns to the build-up to London 2012. Britain have a young squad who learned a lot in China and we will hopefully improve over the next four years.
As for the shorter term, the domestic English league season starts this weekend and I will be aiming to help Surbiton qualify for the Euro Hockey League - our equivalent of football\'s Champions League.
East Grinstead, Reading and Cannock are the three English clubs to have qualified for this season\'s competition and good luck to them. With our six international players back in harness after the Olympics, Surbiton should certainly be competitive. Here\'s hoping.
As for Be Number 1, it\'s great to be on board. It\'s a really interesting idea and a little bit different. It will also give individuals and businesses the chance to feel part of what is going on over the course of the next four years.
On the field, it\'s going to be an exciting time, both at international level and domestic level.
