Free school visits
Be Number 1 brings athletes and students together in a series of school visits to inspire students to create and achieve their own ambitions.
Visits are intended to encourage young people to create a positive vision for their choices on health, fitness and future aspirations.
How it works for schools
Be Number 1 organises free visits for schools from aspiring world-class athletes.
To take part, a school must first register. To register click here so we know where you are and can match you with athletes in your area.
Commitment
The success of this initiative depends on building a rapport between the athlete and the school. As such, it is important that both the school and the athlete are committed to the process.
We have therefore set expectations that both the school and the athlete have to meet and will monitor the programme’s success. These are not onerous and help to frame the school visits so both the school and the athlete gain as much as possible from the experience.
Why school visits are free
The visits are free to schools thanks to Be Number 1 Supporters who pay for the athlete’s visits.
The visits are intended to act as a catalyst to create further community support for the athlete (morale or financial) so both the school, the community and the athletes gain from the association.
It gives aspiring world-class athletes moral and financial support.
And it gives communities a sense of wellbeing, co-operation and unity.
