For supporters
Be Number 1 is a free programme to schools that matches local athletes to local schools, preferably with local funding.

We have ambitious plans and want to continue to offer as many schools as possible the opportunities of having long-term mentors and involvement with world-class sportsmen to

• • connect positive role models with young people
  • support teachers in areas such as health, citizenship, community cohesion and sustainability
  • help athletes engage with their local communities
  • raise attainment and attitudes of students and their own sporting goals
  • unite communities in their support of their schools and their athletes
  • champion British athletic talent in its Olympic and world class sporting values into communities

We are looking to create a prosperous future where children have the skill sets that will enable them to be

• • responsible citizens,
• • achieve economic wellbeing
• • make a positive contribution to society
• • lead happy and fulfilling lives. 

To join us on our journey, and help us all achieve our goals, you can become a major supporter of the programme or you can help to fundraise for your local athlete or to give other schools an opportunity that your school has had.  Alternatively you could become a strategic partner to help us deliver our goals.  The choices are yours and we would love to hear from you, so please get in touch.

The educational programme meets social but also environmental targets acting locally with sports people and local schools who want to create healthier, safer and more supportive and engaged communities.

For Be Number 1 to be successful it needs local businesses to support the cost of the school visits by the athelete

Be Number 1 founders have made available seed funding to kick-start the project for some of the first schools to register.

However the long-term success and sustainability of the project depends on local businesses and communities raising money so the athletes can share their experiences, as role-models in schools.
